"Surround yourself with women who would mention your name in a room full of opportunities"
Who We Are
Here at ELLAS, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Our mission is to build confidence and empower Latina aviators by offering: guidance on overcoming microaggressions, unique mentorship, workshops for mental and physical well-being throughout flight training, and the opportunity to reach out to the community for the recruitment of young Latinas.

Key People
Pure Professionalism

Raquel Villagomez
Executive Director of ELLAS
Raquel Villagomez is the founder of Empowering Latina Leader Aviators Subcommittee. Raquel has the vision and motivation to improve the representation of Latinas in the aviation industry by providing the support they need during flight training. As a senior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, she has had first-hand experience as to how unique a Latinas journey is to become an airline pilot. With drive and support from fellow Latina airline pilots, she decided to not look the other way when it comes to microaggressions and is motivated to make space for Latinas to be seen and prosper in the aviation industry.

Victoria Calderon
President of LPA Eagles Chapter
A few ways to describe this invaluable member of our team is experienced, trustworthy, and inspirational. Victoria Calderon is the president of the Latino Pilots Association for the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University chapter. Victoria is also a senior at ERAU and is working on her commercial pilot's license. With a handful of experience and the same exposure to microaggressions in aviation, she is resistant and dedicated to giving Latinas a fair shot in a male-driven career.
